6 Shrines to visit for the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is celebrated on Dec 12. Many of NASPA's shrines host special celebrations for the Patroness of the Americas. The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wisconsin, faithful to the message of the Blessed Virgin Mary through her appearances on the American continent in 1531, serves the spiritual needs of those who suffer poverty in body and soul. It is a place of ceaseless prayer for the corporal and spiritual welfare of God’s children, especially those in most need. The shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and prayer garden is located in Fruita, Colorado, at Sacred Heart Church. Inspired by the Diocese of Pueblo's patron saint Therese of the Child Jesus’s philosophy of The Little Way, the intention of this project is for small acts of love and generosity of heart to reap enormous fruits. We call upon Our Lady to strengthen our faith, and to show us a way to her Son through worship, prayer, and education. The Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine features a recreation of Tepeyac Hill, the place where Our Lady appeared to Juan Diego. Our Tepeyac Hill is topped by a 12-foot statue of Our Lady in the style of the image she left behind, accompanied by an 8-foot statue of Juan Diego. Visit the Shrine

At the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan Del Valle in San Juan, Texas, the festivities begin on December 11 at 7:00 PM with serenades to Our Lady, followed by a Rosary at 11:00 PM.

On December 12, experience the joy of the Mañanitas and Midnight Mass starting at 12:00 AM. Additional masses will be held at 6:30 AM (Spanish), 11:30 AM (Bilingual), 5:30 PM (Bilingual), and 7:00 PM (Spanish). Food booths offering delicious Mexican treats (antojitos mexicanos) will be available, creating a festive atmosphere as we come together to honor Our Lady.
