In the readings from the Third Sunday of Lent, we see an angel of the Lord appearing to Moses in a burning bush. When Moses approaches, God tells him to come no further because the space is holy ground and that Moses was not yet ready.
As we continue our Lenten pilgrimage, let us stop and ask ourselves…are we prepared for Easter this year? Are we prepared to walk the road to Calvary? Praise God, that we have the treasures of our holy faith, including our nation’s Catholic shrines to help us put our hearts in order. NASPA shrines are beautiful holy grounds that welcome pilgrims daily, helping to prepare hearts for Easter and beyond with ample opportunities to attend Mass and receive the sacraments.
At the National Shrine of St. Rita Cascia in Philadelphia, PA, you have the unique opportunity to “Walk Into Holy Week with St. Rita” on April 9, 2022. Focusing on the redemptive suffering of Christ and seeking the intercession of St. Rita, pilgrims will walk the city of Philadelphia to her National Shrine. Bearing our Lord’s stigmata, St. Rita was a mystic saint who bore the Gospel message of reconciliation and peace to the wounded world around her. May she be an inspiration to us and an intercessor for our online family as we journey closer to Holy Week.
